Meet Josh, our Chief Commercial Officer, who joined the Acre team recently.
What were you doing before joining Acre?
Before joining Acre, I spent most of my career working in technology for mortgage brokers and financial advisers. I held a variety of roles across sales, operations and account management, which gave me a rounded view of how firms run and what they need from their systems. More recently, I worked in a commercial role at a technology provider, where I focused on mortgage origination systems for specialist lenders. Across all these roles, I’ve always been close to both the product and the customer aiming to ensure that the technology can streamline advice, improve efficiency and ultimately support growth.
What do you do at Acre?
I oversee our Business Development and Account Management teams, with a focus on driving revenue from both new and existing customers. Day to day, that means running key demos, working closely with brokers to understand their goals, and removing obstacles that slow our internal processes down. Alongside that, I’m focused on shaping our commercial strategy in terms of how we scale, how we structure our team and how we continue improving the experience our customers have when they work with Acre.
What drew you to our company, and what excites you most about working here?
I knew the strength of the product long before joining – the functionality, the user experience and the pace of development really stand out. What excited me was the opportunity to join an ambitious team that’s building fast and genuinely driving the industry forward. There’s a real sense of momentum here and being part of shaping the next stage of Acre’s growth was a challenge I wanted to take on.
What's your favourite thing about working at Acre?
It’s energising to work with smart, curious people who enjoy solving problems and pushing ideas forward. I also really enjoy improving processes and finding ways to make things more efficient. It’s great working with a product you genuinely believe in, it makes the job far more enjoyable.
What feature do customers love the most during demos?
Customers often comment on how intuitive the system feels. The UI and overall user experience usually stand out straight away. They also like the breadth of functionality, particularly around cross-sells like GI, conveyancing and surveys, which help build additional revenue streams without extra admin. The Client Portal also consistently gets a strong reaction giving clients a clean, simple way to share documents and information.
From my side, I value how all these pieces fit together. The strength isn’t just in individual features; it’s in how the whole platform works as one coherent system.
What do you do outside of work?
I’m a Chelsea season ticket holder, so every other weekend tends to involve a trip to Stamford Bridge. When I am not there, I’m usually digging through vinyl. The collection has grown to more than 1,000 records now, which is in equal parts a hobby and an obsession! I am also learning Spanish, slowly but with enthusiasm!
