Frequently asked questions

What does “Acre on behalf of your mortgage advisor” mean on my credit report?

If you have recently applied for a mortgage via a broker that uses Acre, they will have verified your identity in order to comply with anti-money laundering regulations. We do this electronically using credit reference agencies.

This is known as a 'quotation search' or 'enquiry search'. These searches are only seen by you, and do not affect your credit score or your ability to obtain credit.

You may also have consented to Acre retrieving your full credit history using what is known as an 'Audit search'  These searches are also only seen by you, and do not affect your credit score or your ability to obtain credit.
For more information about how we use credit reference agencies, and how your data may be used in this way, we would recommend reviewing our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Policy of the broker you have used.
